Reviving Nevada
Tourist Economy
International policies & greed collapsed tourism, but its fragility highlighted underlying cracks in domestic earnings that existed long before. Nevada lost the highest amount of domestic tourist revenue with gen-z and millennial travelers who opt for week long vacation, despite tight budgets. Nevada is not the hot spot right now. So what's the fix?
"We pivot. We need new upgrades and budget reform to make renovating tourism to the needs of all generations possible."
- cultural entertainment
- animal sanctuaries
- excursions to dark star tourism & nature
- childcare/ childzones
- mass & cheap transportation
- mid-tier concert venues
- museum districts
- native exhibits and collabs
- meditation zones
- art retreats
- theatre districts
- retreats
- wellness culture
- recycling
- ebikes and scooters
- dietary food menus
- sober culture
- decriminalizing psilicyobin
- classical music features
- indigenous
- festivals
- cannabis events
- underground dance clubs
- silent discos
- theme parks
- historical tour
Live Entertainment Tax
Many residents don't realize that outside of property, gaming, & sales taxes, The Live Entertainment Tax "LET" helps fund a big chunk of our state's revenue. It's a statewide, industry tax & is the highest taxed labor sector on the strip - despite paying its workers low show rates & notorious for union busting.
Entertainment workers make up about 1/3 of the state's labor force. 97% of the LET is generated in Vegas. The only labor sectors paying it are theatre, dance, circus, and music & music. The fund could be significantly larger if we overturned all tax credits related to the LET.
Why?
"Despite generating 50-200 times more in revenue than theatre shows due to live stream capability, merch, sponsors, & ticket volume, pro-sports which are also male dominant industries, are exempt."
- Nascar
- Knights
- Raiders
- UFC
14 shows have closed and many venues are opting out of entertainment. Difficult permits and unnecessary business licensing has detered entertainment from staying in state. The Live Entertainment tax prevents female producers and independent entertainment companies can't actually create a show in Nevada. Tax reform on the LET will generate money for nearly all underfunded government programs and allowed low paid industries to earn a livable wage. This money is tied to everything Nevada wants but doesn't have the money for. With fair LET tax reforms we can fund it all.
AI & Data Centers
Parts of rural Nevada only have poisoned drinking water. Entire towns and cities may lose their power supply. Children already use bottled water to brush their teeth because of contaminated soil from data centers. Southern Nevada doesn't talk about this nor is it written about despite data center plans to arrive in Vegas and Boulder city.
Why aren't candidates in the legislature who voted to support this funding aware?
They are. Read on.
NV provided $457 million in tax abatements for data centers without regulating them. Many of our politicians, including my opponent, took maximum donations from data centers.
The consequences specific to Nevada due to our water, job, & power crises:
- polluted environment
- temp jobs
- no power for living
- higher unemployment
- water crisis
- utility prices
- job replacement
- harm to artists and entertainers
- poor work conditions
- contaminated drinking water
- animals endangerment
- deep fakes & child harm
Scheiner is for immediate moratoriums & cutting all abatements. The minute Nevada rejected forms of man made media, it selected AI & data centers.
" NV is the fastest growing data center hub in the nation. Workers want film employment over AI, but since we can't produce film, only AI jobs exist. It's not too late to pivot. We don't need 80+ data centers. Invest in ethical entertainment economies. Democrats, Indies, & Republicans from all regions all stand against AI. The only people pushing data centers are special interest politicians funded by them. Elect someone who isn't, so Nevadans can unite and fight back. "
Entertainers have been fighting AI for over ten years. Scheiner is not new to this battle - she's passionate and well versed.
Transportation
Right now NV is behind on public transportation and this has hurt our economy, spiked inflation, decreased tourism, & increased our car insurance.
What will updated transport benefit?
1. Less DUIs
2. Save Lives
3. Boost Tourism
4. Expand Employment
5. Decrease Car Insurance
6. Minimize parking scarcities
Limited flights, no high speed rails, no city trams, nor above ground rails prevents tourists and local travelers from exploring the state. Resorts need complimentary shuttles to airports & tourist excursions (Reno has this, Vegas doesn't). Price Included transportation to nature, parks, and direct travel to dark star destinations needs to funded. Ebikes, bike lanes, and scooters are also great alternatives for shorter distances. Safer 24 hour public transport & covered climate safe stations for graveyard shifts need to be available. Spirit flight cancellations has strained our already outdated public transportation offers to locals and tourists. Offering rails from cities to rurals so that rural Nevadans don't have to travel 4 hours round trip daily to hospitals or work would upgrade the needs of Nevadans statewide grately.
Vegas' specifically has the most expensive car insurance. Intoxicated tourists is a contributor alongside frequent accidents. Cheap public transport would massively decrease drunk driving and prevent locals from having to pay for it in insurance while making the city safer & preventing DUI related tragedies. A huge bonus is ensuring the the corridor parking for workers, locals, & business owners remains free.
Family Support & Programs
Let's Make it Better
Education
BridgieNix' 2.4 B annual plan includes:
- $4000-$6000 PPF increase
- $150 million/ year for addtl resources
- college funding
- trades programs
- montessori, wellness, & arts programs
- paid interships and dual credit courses
- teacher salary increases
- stronger special needs programs
- increasing enrollment by offering programs charters have + more
- smaller class sizes
Childcare
Lack of childcare is one of the biggest contributors to gender inequities and pay gaps in all labor sectors. Women are disproportionately effected by Nevada's underfunded childcare systems which prevents them from having higher level managerial and executive opportunities. The amount of Women in executive positions in every corporation and casino in Nevada puts us far behind many states and countries. Our lack of childcare is also a direct cause to homelessness and poverty. Childcare providers and facilities often take paycuts in order to help dire circumstances. Workers and childcare specialists shouldn't have to use their own finances to help the community where our government lacks. Nevada needs to offer childzones and care for tourists as well. Funded childcare fixes employment, inequity, & tourism all in one.
Healthcare
As more employers decrease hours, workers are on call/ part time, & more government, veteran, and healthcare workers are losing their benefits, healthcare solutions are urgent. BridgieNix knows this well. She has navigated ACA cut credits, a broken medicaid system where the social workers are underpaid , lack of specialists, & Nevada's new system that's difficult to navigate.
She has developed a plan to make healthcare $10 for anyone making under 6 figures that will eventually transfer into an alternative fully covered universal option as the rest of her 2.4 B annual budget plan increases. People can opt for private healthcare, but a better universal alternative needs to exist for everyone who doesn't have employer sponsored insurance. Additionally, she has plans to reopen rural hospitals, incentivize specialists to NV, & expand rural maternity wards.
Affordability & Housing
The majority of Nevadans are in debt. From student loans, medical bills, groceries, parking, gas, transportation, car insurance, utilities, housing/rent, taxes, HOAs, etc, there is not one Nevadan that is vibing under current circumstances. The cost of living has not only inflated but the services and subscriptions required to function in modern society are way beyond what the generation of our current Lieutenant Governor ever had to endure when forming his family. He grew up before the internet existed and before linkedin, indeed, website hosting, internet, cell phone, etc were required just to obtain a job. It cost money to apply for jobs now. It's time the state steps in where society as a whole is failing gen z, millenials, and gen x trying to keep their families fed or wanting to start families but can't afford to.
Housing Solutions:
- rent moratorium
- pet friendly housing
- eliminate pet breed bans & pet rent

Civil Rights & Humanitarian Causes
Let's Be Good People
Voting Rights & Equity
As Civil Rights continue to dwindle at the federal level we must protect them within the state. Voting rights have been attacked from the recent Supreme Court ruling, effecting gerrymandering in black and latino districts. Recent federal proposals would prevent Women & Trans residents from voter access. BridgieNix can't fathom that this is where we are as a nation, but she vows to protect voter rights at all costs and fight back on any inequality.
The inequitable pay and wage gap within the casinos and corps is inexcusable. There are many qualified marginalized workers who are barred from executive roles or better pay. In 2026 this is inexcusable. BridgieNix will implement incentives that push for diverse hires and reopens investigations into systemically racist hiring practices, particularly in the casinos.
"The inequitable pay gap must be addressed."
- legislative reform
- regular pay audits
- baby bond programs
- child care & paid leave
- equal pay laws
- pay transparency requirements
- ending subminimum pay wages
- raising minimum wage to $25/ hour
(abatements available for small businesses who can't afford that rate)
LGBTQ+
Nevada is on human rights watch lists due to the current Lieutenant Governor's anti-trans forces and moves to attack trans youth. As more federal protections for queer communities get overturned & SCOTUS rolls back progress, BridgieNix ensures to protect human rights & that Nevada becomes a sanctuary state for those who face safety issues elsewhere.
"There is no world where endangering children, harming adults, & attacking trans people is acceptable, ethical, or economical. It's not creating jobs, healthcare, food, tourism boosts, & if anything is a huge contributor to why gen z and millennials won't come to Nevada. If Stavros had an economic plan, he would have enforced it by now - instead he's trapping Nevadans into inhumane culture wars that nobody wants. I have plans to fix the economy that doesn't require dragging people into danger. "
- fund crises responses
- emergency housing permitting pets
- conversion therapy bans for all ages
- resource centers
- pro-bono outpatient psych services

ICE & Immigration Rights
Every 1 in 5 people in Nevada are migrants. Many casinos hire hospitality workers & gaming dealers directly from cruise ships. Additionally, many performers are hired internationally on 0-1 visas for specialized work in the shows as a circus artist or performer.
Before DHS crackdowns, as gaming and entertainment slowed in Nevada, migrants faced displacement and were in harm's way due to outdated visa barriers that prevent workers from seeking income in other fields. Outdated documentation systems and slow DHS processing combined with Trump's changes & illegal ICE activity, put performers, families, and the workers that keep Nevada's economy alive at risk.
BridgieNix believes in upholding our constitutional rights and believes ICE has been an anti-American establishment violating our 1st, 4th, 5th, & equal protections by racial profiling & using illegal fear tactics against migrants & citizens alike. Like many progressives who value civil rights, BridgieNix believes in abolishing ice entirely. At the state level here's what her plans are:
- end cooperations with federal authorities
- remove metro PD from cooperations
- create safe zones
- legal protections for natives who lost citizenship due to federal terminations
- end detention contracts with all local jails
- investigations on judicial warrants
- provide legal aid and affordable resources
- faster processing for pending cases & documentation
- sheriff oversight
- stop state resources funding ICE
- educate on rights
Women's Rights & Repro Access
Sexual harrassment, retaliation, demotions, & discrimination occur w/o accountability. Nevada has made little progress. From lack of childcare, pregnancy leave, health benefits, maternity leave, etc., the state has made it impossible to obtain livable wages as a mother. Non-existent benefits make pregnancy or motherhood hard to navigate while maintaining employment.
"I have PCOS/PMOS. I am a huge repro rights advocate. I will fight to ensure draconian laws made by unaffected men are permanently erased."
Nevada remains a pro-choice state, but as federal rights regress, Nevada needs to expand specialists, resources, infrastructure, and maternity care. A Woman was wrongfully prosecuted in Nevada and imprisoned for 2 years on a felony charge for miscarrying. Even in pro-choice states, the laws fail. The $100K paid will never get years of her life back.

- Fund hormones
- Hormonal testing for diseases

Workers' Rights
After watching union busting, low wages, hazardous work conditions, & minimal protections in NV's corporate work place, BridgieNix vowed to protect venerable workers, non union industries, and migrants. She supports ending right to work, card-checks, ending misclassifications, & bring the power back to the people not the overheads. Read more about her plans for the working class here & her legislative advocacy and meetings below.
1. Workplace Psychological Abuse Act
BridgieNix has been working with Terry Chi to get this act, part of the national "End Workplace Abuse" sponsored. She has labored endlessly to communicate with unions, bringing statewide written and verbal testimony by Nevadan workers in varying industries, and has testified 3 times in regards to her personal experience to push for better protections in Nevada where the EEOC / NERC / HR fail. This would protect all workers statewide.
Watch her Labor Committe Testimony
2. Overturning SB8
SB8 was the senate bill in last year's special session that reinstated Nevada corporations right to steal wages from employees. They stated it was a standard read on the federal Portal-to-Portal Act, but it actually meant that payroll performers on the strip, amazon workers, and many other groups without union reps do not get paid for the work they did. This also prevents workers from doing class action lawsuits when wage theft laws have still been violated, protecting the corporations & preventing Nevadans from earning income. This must be fixed immediately.
One of BridgieNix' opponents who currently serves on assembly and is funded by wealthy corporations voted to enact this wage theft bill which requires performers to do anywhere from 20-200 hours of unpaid work in a month.
3. Entertainment Bill of Rights
BridgieNix is drafting Nevada's very first Entertainment Bill of Rights. This would protect and secure a lot of common sense policies many believe performers in Nevada already have, they do not. During her campaign tour, BridgieNix met with state leaders and all admitted they didn't know that live entertainers weren't unionized in Nevada.
"Performers in Nevada make the lowest wages in the world despite the highest budget. Business managers with 0 entertainment experience overseeing these industries led to low pay, but another factor is lack of state regulations. What a circus artist can make in CA is 10 - 100 times more - but we are home to the entertainment capital of the world. "
